@ The Vaults: great venue below the Connolly Station... Gary Numan & Ade Fenton DJ Set, The Sedettes featuring a brand new suspension (to the music of Apoptygma Berzerz) & DJ Disflux ...
presented by Sedition Industries ... Well done!!!

Fantastic DJ set by DJ Disflux as night opener & closer.

Sedition Ireland are aiming to bring about a new era in alternative entertainment in Ireland by collaborating with DJ's, designers and artists to create thrilling and rebellious performances guaranteed to excite and shock their audiences. And they certainly have a very apt name for their troupe.

Sedition -noun 1. Incitement of discontent or rebellion. 2. Any action, esp. in speech or writing, promoting such discontent or rebellion. 3. Archaic, rebellious disorder.

The Irish Sedition girls certainly did live up to their name at their most recent gig; a Japanese themed event in The Vaults last Saturday the 19th. Gary Numan & Ade Fenton performed a live DJ Set at the event which also featured live performances from the Sedette girls. A fake eyelash stand was also available at the event, with help at hand if you weren't a dab hand at eyelash applying.

With performance names such as Mimi Misfit Sedition, Rave Sedition and Sadistic Sedition, once these girls took to the stage, the audience knew they were in for a treat.
There were three main performances on the night 'Tie Me Up', 'Come to Daddy' and of course, the suspension act undertaken by the gorgeous PostModern SleezeSedition.
'Tie Me Up' was a number that had five of the Sedette girls in a routine that mixed together chairs, ropes and lots of PVC. A lovely well rehearsed routine that got the crowds attention and certainly helped set the mood to the event. 'Come To Daddy' was an act that was reminiscent of 'The Ring'. Three Sedettes made up as Geisha girls arrived onto the stage, before ripping off their robes and masks to reveal bloody faces and writhing dancing. Coupled with copious amounts of fake blood and a fabulous routine involving a dagger, this was a very well planned act, with one geisha girl killing the other two before escaping into the darkness backstage.

The suspension act was certainly the highlight of the night. Not one for the squeamish among us, it even had me cringing at times. Attached to a suspension device by eight hooks through her thighs and lower stomach, PostModern SleezeSedition not only retained her composure, but even managed to carry out a routine with Japanese fans. All while dangling over one and a half metres in the air! In the meantime, to go along with the suspension act, another two Sedettes carried out a katana act. This was definitely an audience pleaser and the reaction they got from the crowd during this was fantastic.

Sedette cocktails were also available on the night, meaning that we really could not forget where we were at all times. A delicious cherry flavoured mix, it certainly pleased and left you wanting more. Just like the Sedette girls! As for the crown that was there they certainly seemed to have a great time.
Oz, 28, from Ballyfermot told me. "It was very enjoyable and I will definitely come to their next gig. Although I think their cocktail had more alcohol in it at the start of the night! Maybe that's just me though." Dan, 26 from Knocklyon came to find himself a new girlfriend; "Just look around, they're all stunning and really lovely girls to talk to. I'd be mad not to come! Plus the music is amazing."

As for the Sedette girls, they thoroughly enjoyed their night and can now relax with their very own cocktails after all their hard work. MissKitty Sedition said that her favourite part was the dressing up; "No one is looking at me weirdly in here despite my outfit" she laughed. "I love these nights, it's just awesome being here. I can't even explain it."

So what's next for Sedition Industries? Ta-Tu Sedition updated me on their next plans; "Bigger and better names and DJs! We want to have more and more of these night and try to spread the word of what we're doing here in Dublin. We even have our eyelash stand here as it seems no one knows how to properly apply them and so they're not used commonly here. Even though they're an amazing part of a make up bag." Everyone made such an effort with they're clothes and dressing up tonight, all of the Sedettes are thrilled with the turnout. We really couldn't have asked for a better night."

The best thing about these gigs is that fact that you can talk to all of the performers both during and after the show, this gives these gigs such a close knit feeling and it's really nice for the crowd to be able to interact with them.

So until the next Sedition onslaught, keep your eyes and ears open to hear more news from the girls.
