Eirin Bendigtsen (Where Angels Fall)

How long are you into music and what means music for you in general?
I think I've always been into music. I can remember making songs when I was a kid. In general music means a lot to me. I use music as a tool for learning at work (in a kindergarden), and I spend a lot of my spare time to rehearse and compose/make music. In general, I do that every day. And I find myself singing for myself almost all the time. Other people talk to themselves, but I sing ;-)
You are from Norway - can you tell me something about the country?
Yes, I am from Norway, and I love it here! I like that we actually have four seasons of the year here. Cold winters, beautiful springs, summers with sun and autumn with rain, wind and colors. We also have a diverse music scene, and a lot of good bands!
Can you please introduce your band to our readers...
Our music is metal/rock based, with groovy guitarriffs and melodic vocals in center. The sound is a mix of metal, electronica, elements of classical music and pop. Our melodies has a touch of tragedy. The band is André Bendigtsen and Kristian Svenning as guitarists, Espen Lohne as bassplayer, Jarle Byberg is the drummer, and I sing.
You have recently been on tour with Theatre of Tragedy. How is life on tour?
Hehe, shortly summing it up: get up, drinking coffee at a truckstop for hours, arrive at venue, wait for hours, have soundcheck, prepare for show, play gig, talk to nice people, get in the bus, sometimes party and sleep while traveling on to the next gig. Theatre of Tragedy are a nice bunch of people. We had a really good time on tour. They were treating us like friends, and they always made sure that we had the same conditions as them.
What do you think: which city has the best audience?
Hard to pick one, but I think London, Madrid, and Lisbon was top three.
Did you already know during this tour that the Theatre of Tragedy will close down on October 2nd 2010?
Yes, we knew that before the tour.
Did you get much feedback after coming back from tour?
Yes a lot! We got a lot of emails and pictures from fans, and we got some real nice reviews.
Is it difficult to find back to normal life after touring?
He he, yes, it was hard to get back to work, and hard to focus on not band related issues. Luckily there was the eastern holidays shortly after. ;-)
What can we expect from Where Angels Fall in the next months? Are you planning a new single/video/concerts?
There will be more action after the summer. Now we are just relaxing and taking our time. There is some recorded songs just waiting for release, so we can release something any time.
