We are ZeroPointZero, 3 piece trashbeat industrial sleaze band. We dont really seem to fit one genre, so we're sticking with that. I'm Ronan (MortAlSyn) bass player and singer, Colin (Uroboros)electronics and vocals, Mickey (Mickey Trash) on Guitar.

Where are you from? Can you tell us a little bit about the music scene in your country/city?
Ronan: We are currently based in Derry, Northern Ireland, but we play wherever and whenever. Musical Whores! Originally though we are from all over, Colin from England, Mickey from Scotland and I'm from N.Ireland, so it's an interesting mix.
Mickey: 99.9% of bands in this city are either cover bands or thrash metal... believe it or not, Derry is a very conservative city, most bands are afraid to try anything different!

Which is your favourite music act, or even the biggest crowd peaser?
Ronan: Thats a tough one, for me personally it was tool when they played Dublin last. Amazing gig.
Colin: Nitzer Ebb/Ministry!!!
Mickey: Gotta be Bowie or NIN.

What inspires you to make music?
Ronan: Anything that we love or hate enough... that and its a lot of fun!
Colin: Alcohol & Mickey!
Ronan: Can't argue with that actually...
Mickey: I find it a great way to self medicate but I still know my biography will end with the line "......... before turning the gun on himself". ;)

How would you describe your music? Can you list any influences?

Ronan: Dark dance beats, heavy guitars, infectious rhythms. Influences are endless, from Nine Inch Nails, Pig, Ministy, Tool, Nitzer Ebb to Motley Crue, Murderdolls to John Lee Hooker. Pretty much everything else inbetween....
Mickey: Edgy, full on fun with a dark twist. The 3 of us have such varied taste in music, movies & literature it's impossible to pin point any one influence but we do write alot about drink, drugs, sex and with all 3 of us being very strong Atheists, the virers that is religion.

You are going to support Combichrist in Dublin in July. Can you tell us something about this? Do you have any expectations?
Colin: A crowd!
Ronan: I'm really looking forward to it, wanted to go anyways, but playing you could say, is a 'little' bit better.
Mickey: Very honoured & excited about it, just want to get up there & have a blast!

What kind of music do you prefer:

- while cooking?
Ronan: Motivational montage music has to be, adds dramatic effect to the flavour!
Mickey: Frank Sinatra or Robert Johnson.

- while driving?
Ronan: Depends on the mood. Puscifer is great for driving, but depending on your mood, Nine Inch Nails - A perfect drug! be warned - speeding can be a side effect,...
Mickey: The Doors or Dope.
Ronan: Ooh, Dope, good choice actually!

- at party?
Ronan: Tough choice... compilation of multiple genres, taking the mood up and down.
Mickey: It's hard to beat hair Rock but by 4AM it's ALWAYS Bowie time!!

- to relax?
Ronan: Ludovico Einaudi - great stuff, though if thats too mellow, Puscifer, one of the reasons for driving too haha, calms the road rage.
Mickey: gotta be the Rat Pack.

- while having sex? :P
Ronan: Haha, interesting... I would have to say a Perfect Circle - Mer de noms album - especially the song 'Thinking of you'. Hmm. Maybe followed up with the obvious 'closer' from Nine Inch Nails?
Mickey: Makes no difference, it's very hard to hear anything in a gimp mask ;)

When you become hugely famous, how would it affect you, the fame and having all the money?
Colin: There's no money in music!
Ronan: I won't lie, I would be loving every second of it, though inevitably I would probably get sick of it and go off the rails for a while... Got to rehab, just on time for the reunion tour... Now that's rock and roll hahah.
Mickey: No more dog food for Mickey!!!

What's life like for you?
Colin: DUH!
Ronan: Life is...interesting.....carpe diem, memento mori. A friend told me that once; figured it made a hell of a lot of sense!
Mickey: Perfect, I really mean that! Good friends, good times, good drink! I'm as happy as a pig in shit!!

What can we expect from ZeroPointZero in the nearer future?
Ronan: Our website is in the process of going live, you can check that out at www.zpointz.com, and our new EP will be released in the next couple of weeks, Death Rock Suicide! We are very proud of this one, and it will be available very soon! That and we hope this gig is a taste of greater things to come...
