Portrait of the month
Ministry of Agroculture Promotions Ireland

Ministry of Agroculture Promotions Ireland has been corrupting Ireland's youth since the 90's. Born from the ashes of Dublin's 'Golgotha' clubnite, the Ministry have been responsible for bringing international goth/industrial acts to play in Dublin for nearly 10 years; hosting bands including Combichrist, VNV Nation, Nachtmahr, Peter Murphy (Bauhaus), Deviant UK, Kloq, Sheep on Drugs, Skinjob, The Cruxxshadows, Jeyenne(XPQ-21), Hocico... and there's plenty more to come ... The culprit behind the Ministry of Agroculture is Dublin's Agro Fi....an Irishwoman whose love of music and geek-like aptitude for event management has propelled her into not just concert promotion. She has dj'd at Dublin's clubnights The Tower, Sonic Temple, Spellbound and Dominion; Belfast's clubnights Cornucopia, Weimar Republic and Intermission and Edinburgh's Club Ascension.

Ministry of Agroculture also facilitates many random events....80's nights, Halloween Balls and the annual 'Freak Picnic' in Dublin's Stephen's Green... a chance to meet up with like-minded music fans in an age-neutral and non-commercial environment. “I've collaborated with alot of people over the years....most are repeat offenders and on-going support and comradery within the Irish 'alternative' music scene is what will keep it alive and nurture it to grow to an even bigger scarier beast!”. If asked, Agro Fi will clarify one thing tho... It's all about the music! Self-promotion is not high on her list of priorities... doing a professional job and encouraging more bands to believe that playing in Ireland is a trip worth taking however, is. As is encouraging home-grown talent to step up and give them a platform.

And Ministry of Agroculture Promotions will be indulging us with more surprises before the year is out! Watch this space! To quote Agro Fi : Support your Local Underground.
