This album is a grower. At first I was quite apprehensive about Stayte. There was a lot of elements to 'Two Sisters' that I had mixed feelings about. Musically, there are some excellent elements, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the whole CD. The one thing I found myself struggling with at times was the vocals. The vocals tend to waver between the extremities; when they are good, they are fantastic and blend so well. When they are off, they sometimes seem to follow no tune, are a little too loud in the mix, and with the reverb etc. on there, can come across as a little over- produced. Overall though, as the week went on, my headphones seemed to hold a better balance of sound, and Stayte began to grow on me. This band holds a lot of potential, and with a bit more time to develop, could turn out to be something really special. It's great to hear more sounds like this raising to the surface, above a plethora of mediocre one hit wonders that have left no room for others to progress. I wish Stayte the best of luck with The Two Sisters, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for them!
