ONE MAN´S TRASH feat. Jimi Jamison and Fred Zahl
"The Restless Kind"

Release Date: September 2011 | Label: Starhouse Records

5/10

One Man’s Trash is Jimi Jamison (formerly of the 80s AOR giants like Cobra and Survivor) and Fred Zahl. Jamison needs no introduction to fans of rock, in addition to being voted one of the “10 best male vocalists in the world,” he is known for his stint with Loverboy and several hit singles from television and movies- ‘Eye of the Tiger’ (Rocky III), as well as songs in ‘Rocky IV,’ ‘Karate Kid,’ ‘Baywatch,’ and more. One Man’s Trash’s debut single, ‘The Restless Kind,’ is what you would expect: extremely radio-friendly rock with a modern adult alternative sheen- melodic guitars, soaring notes, and dramatic, sappy choruses; it’s no wonder it reached the top of Radio Berlin 88.8’s charts.

Perhaps I’m a little biased-judging this band along the same scale I would an industrial or dark electro band is not fair; in all honesty, this is something I think would not be out of place on the 1980s ‘Transformers: the Movie’ soundtrack or a feel-good Chuck Norris kids movie from the 90s. As this type of music has never been my thing, I will give it a 5/10; I can see fans of the 80s stadium rock monsters like Styx, Loverboy, and Survivor or those who listen to the softer side of the radio enjoying these tracks.
